Three habits keep a machine fresh: run a hot maintenance cycle and clean the filter, dry the seal, and rinse the detergent drawer.

Run a hot maintenance cycle monthly and clean the filter
Lint, hair, and small particles collect in the filter and can affect drainage — and when water drains poorly, cleaning performance drops too. Once a month, run a high-temperature (around 90°C) empty cycle to remove hidden residue and stale build-up, especially if you usually wash cool.

Wipe the rubber seal and leave the door open slightly
Air circulation is one of the simplest ways to reduce moisture-related odour, and even a small opening helps the inside dry faster. Check the folds of the seal for moisture, lint, and trapped items, and wipe it dry after the last wash of the day.

Rinse the detergent drawer regularly
If detergent or softener hardens inside the drawer, less product reaches the wash correctly. Remove the drawer and rinse off visible build-up.
